Eastern Ontario Double Murder Investigation Expands Across Multiple Scenes
According to the Ottawa Police Service, officers responded to a home on Mandevilla Crescent in south Ottawa at around 10 a.m. on June 29, 2026, for a wellness check. Inside the residence, police found two boys, aged 7 and 12, deceased. Their names have not been released as next-of-kin notifications continue.
Police say the Homicide Unit is leading the investigation and is working closely with the Ontario Provincial Police. Authorities believe two other scenes in eastern Ontario may be connected to the deaths: a business fire in Iroquois and a vehicle fire at the Kemptville carpool lot near Highway 416 and Rideau River Road.
Father Found Dead After Kemptville Vehicle Fire
Police said a deceased adult male was found in the vehicle fire reported shortly after 5:30 a.m. in Kemptville. Investigators identified him as the father of the two boys. Ottawa police have said they are treating the case as a suspected double homicide-suicide while they continue to establish the full timeline.
Ottawa police Supt. Jamie Dunlop said investigators believe the boys were brothers and that the deaths are being examined as a double homicide-suicide. Police also said there is no indication of an ongoing threat to public safety.

Another major focus is the reported business fire in Iroquois, Ontario. Police have not released full details about that scene, but they have confirmed that OPP officers are holding it because it is believed to be connected to the broader investigation.
